EV Charger Repair & Troubleshooting in Westminster, CA

Breaker tripping overnight, charging dropping to a trickle, or a unit that will not energize at all — we diagnose the cause instead of replacing parts and hoping.

Most Charging Faults Are Installation Faults

When a charger that used to work stops working, the equipment is often not the problem. Undersized conductors on an oversized breaker, a loose lug, a compromised ground, or a GFCI reacting to moisture cause the large majority of the faults we get called for. We test the circuit and read the unit's fault codes before quoting a repair, because replacing a healthy charger fixes nothing.

What a Diagnostic Visit Covers

Full circuit testing

Voltage under load, conductor sizing against the breaker, termination torque, and ground integrity.

Fault code retrieval

The unit's own logs, read and interpreted rather than guessed at.

Correction of prior installation errors

Rewiring undersized runs, replacing improper breakers, and fixing terminations done wrong the first time.

Unit replacement when it is genuinely the unit

Warranty claim filed where coverage applies, and the replacement installed and commissioned.

The Installs We Get Called Back To

A meaningful share of our Westminster repair calls come from installs done by handymen or general electricians without EV-specific training. The most common finding is a 60-amp breaker feeding conductors rated for 40 — a setup that charges fine on a cool night and trips on a warm one. It is a safety problem, not an inconvenience.

Charger Repair Questions

  • My breaker trips at night. Why?

Usually undersized conductors heating under continuous load, or a GFCI responding to moisture. Testing distinguishes them quickly.

  • Do you service chargers you did not install?

Yes, that is most of this work, across all major brands.

  • Is the charger under warranty?

Often, if it is under a few years old. We check and file the claim on your behalf.

  • How fast can you come out?

Repair calls take scheduling priority, typically within a day or two.
